photoscape rocks
seriously!!!
i just realised that it can print screen and edit. wahh, i am SLOW.
oops.
oh, anyway, it was rather fun trying out the street view of googlemaps!
this is upmc (that tall building plus that modern looking building. but i suspect that the Google team went around some time ago, as the tall building isn’t fully constructed yet.
and that’s the faculty of science.. where the labs are
the studio that the school suggested for us
And then i was off on a stroll around the neighbourhood! (virtually though)
and you can see the restaurant & cafe/brasserie next to it :)
boutique/boucherie (i highly suspect that the photos were taken on sunday, since most of the shops are closed)
hopefully they sell nice shoes here!
i’m sorry, but i spotted the word “chocolats”!!!
ahh, so that’s where chocolates are sold!
and the alimentation generale
and then i thought.. why not “walk” around paris too?
hey, i can visit le tour eiffel!
and champs elysees too!
ooh, and there’s hotel du louvre
hmm, and how about notre dame de paris too?
oops. and i spotted LV too! wahaha. and there’s HSBC beside! world’s local bank indeed.
and then i thought.. hey, since it works for Paris, why not Lyon? then i can show you around. once again, virtually of course.
so anyway, this is insa lyon. please agree with me that it looks rather dilapidated.
the first day i had to eat at the restaurant.. i was like.. why is it called “le pervert??”
then i realised it’s “Le Prévert” instead. still, we must always remember to look out for the tram when crossing the road, because there was once we were happily chatting and forgot!! thank goodness the tram station is nearby (therefore trams approaching and leaving La Doua Gaston Berger wouldn’t be travelling at too fast a speed)
well, take the funiculaire.. and you’ll end up at fourviere! (and somehow deardear pronounces it as though it’s a vulgarity! lol)
cross the road and you’ll face…
la basilique! otherwise known as notre dame de fourviere. and a couple of other names i can’t remember. pretty right??
bellecour was our favourite hangout place after school! this librarie privee offers cheap campus textbooks (haha, which we could sell for a profit back in sgp even though it’s unused)
rue Victor Hugo. in case you don’t know who he is… I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of Les Miserables and The Hunchback of Notre Dame right?? Zara is just down the street if i’m not wrong. if not, it’s just down the other street in the opposite direction. I once walked down the streets of Bellecour, past Cordelier, and then to Perrache, and then the bus interchange to take a bus back! well, just to explore around a bit la.
and i suppose you can spot McDonalds.. and this is where the bouncers for the toilets are!
and to end it off. eat kebab at this place! i know there are like plenty of kebab shops but this one is the best deal! (this is besides the point that i didn’t pay for my kebab, accidentally.. because some people forgot to count a few of our shares when we went to the toilet). anyway, for say about 3 euros, you can get a huuuuggge bread (choice is up to you). i’m not sure how long, but it seems longer than the 6 inch ones at subway, but less than a footlong.. and it’s filled with lettuce, tomatoes, whatever other veggie, the meat that you choose, different kinds of sauces (there’s even spicy chilli!), and a whole big handful of fries! and because it’s so damn filling, you can just share it between 2 girls la. plus, there’s a chio cambodian-chinese waitress working there.
oh wow. googlemaps is certainly interesting, don’t you think? hahah.
