this. is. crazy.
i mean. seriously!
like i was chatting with jess.. and we can’t believe.. how we previously tried to settle our exchange thingy for ONE YEAR… can actually be done in like ONE NIGHT.
I don’t know the results from the french uni yet.. will have to wait and see.. oh please please let it be… ok la, any news is fine actually.
because if i get to go, then i wouldn’t have to pay for the bond. and plus there’s another 3-4k from NASA exchange awards. (which obviously has to wait for our acceptance letter to arrive first). so technically it’s something like we’re given 6-7k to do our exchange…
and then if I get rejected, well then.. i wouldn’t have to pay that 3k anyway. i mean, the bad thing is i get stuck in nus la. and most of the world has just disappeared for exchange.. but oh well.. you know it’s still ok la i suppose.
jess and i were walking around raffles city/city link mall for a while.. and ultimately we settled on a bench outside blum & co, and started people-watching. lol. but after that we started to look at the models on display..
and seriously, right now.. all the nice clothes are like winter wear la! like stockings with boots + a dress on top. classic. hoho.
oh well, it might be a white christmas. i don’t know..
but poor wanying la! she thought that she wasn’t going for exchange.. so she booked tickets and is in lyon now.. then just yesterday, the chem eng people got accepted to ecole centrale, so.. she has to like fly back, settle all her visa and stuff.. then fly there again. wahh, super a lot of money on airfare la!
okok. if i’m going, then i had better work my ass off in jan + read up furiously on french. well, although we’re allowed to bring a french-english dictionary in for the exams.. so the vocab part is still ok… but i had better buck up on my grammar!!!
list of things to do:
1. go out with nx & hl to cafe del mar tmr!! yaay!!
2. go out with joo and hl.. not sure when, sometime during 23rd-26th dec
of course, also need to spend time with deardear la!
if i get accepted, i need to
1. settle visa (the long term one, so that there’s 50% rebate on accomodation)
2. get documents translated in french. where??? french embassy???
3. get air tickets
4. find accomodation
5. register for french class
6. register for modules (and figure out which one to drop as well. haha)
7. winter clothes? aiyah, never mind. not enough then buy over there
8. buy insurance. check out if need to get social security as well.
oh. btw, i just realised how the snowflakes move according to where your mouse pointer is… lol.
ooh. anyway. i have bought what i wanted to buy!!

omg. seriously aldo in singapore is damn damn damn overpriced la! i was trying to just put a stock photo to show you guys what i bought.. then omg… the shades there are like less than 10CAD!!! (ok some are like 11CAD but still!!!). ps. shades in singapore are sold for 35SGD!!
the shoes that i saw the other day for like around 150SGD.. costs like 64.98CAD!
wth. how much do we actually mark up here? 300% of the original price???
omg. if i’m going to paris, i shall just do my shopping there. seriously. like how much did i get my necklace for? ONE EURO. my scarf? 1.95 euros. hey even my shoes weren’t very ex la.. 12 euros for a pair of pumps.. seriously i think you can walk into most shoe shops in singapore and NOT find that kind of price! oh, how about my GAP jacket? 10.50euros. zara top? 4.95euros. my mauritian dress? 5.95euros.
omg. seriously! shopping in sgp is a killer!! now i know wth is everyone spree-ing online and importing stuff.. because it’s cheaper overseas la!!! (even if you add in all the shipping and postage charges)
if i don’t have a thick enough coat or not enough coats, i am seriously going to get from there.. since a normal one (by normal, i don’t mean the 400euros one, when we tried on not knowing the price, and received the daggers shooting out from the salesgirl’s eyes.. but seriously the material was sooooooooo good! calf leather. so soft and smooth to the touch, and DAMN FREAKING WARM. ok, but i saw another similar piece when i went out with hl the other day.. it costs like 899.95 or something, from mango..so i guess similar material & quality.. similar price)
oops. digressed too much. anyway a coat over there can cost something like 30euros.. something which might cost like 200SGD in sgp. (like those we see in mango). see i told you. 300% of original price!!
goodness gracious. i wonder why people even take advantage of the “GREAT” singapore sale. i’m sorry but i’m a true blue bargain hunter. and everywhere i see, it seems like sales are only about 30% off. where is the AT LEAST 70% off sales i ask you???
