vexed
i’m in a horrible mood these days. and i’m really really very sorry my dear. i also don’t really mean to get worked up easily. and i don’t mean to suddenly have such a black face while riding behind your bike.
and don’t worry, i’m not angry at you or anything.
i’m just.. so vexed about the whole exchange thing. i don’t exactly wish to publicize over here what happened, but basically there are just… so many things to settle..
haish
*note to self: email ws*
it’s like on one hand, im really happy to be able to go..
on the other hand, it means much more expenses. and maybe less chance. but in a way, what wsm (no i don’t mean wing sm) said made sense i guess. what if i fell back. it would indeed be a waste. well, which is why i need to email ws tomorrow. i would do it now, but i’m sleepy and i don’t wish to type gibberish, cos it’s quite important.
okay, VERY important.
i need to settle this before i fly off. it’s easier that way.
haish.
well, in any case, i would need to scrimp and save in france. and europe. seriously.
haish.
i am haish-ing a lot. and i need to stop this.
okay, show me the money soon! 7 working days…………………………………..
thanks dear, for being so understanding. thanks for letting me spend the night at your place, to get away from the very-displeased mum. thanks for listening to me, and giving me tight hugs when i cry. thanks for letting me talk it all out, even if it bores the ass out of you. and thanks for accompanying me to school today even though you were so tired, just to more or less settle stuff.
i feel like a complete hopeless freak. urgh! i need some directions!
okok i’m alive
sorry for making everyone worry the other day.
and special thanks to my dear for coming all the way to my place to take care of me, bringing me to see the doctor, tending to my needs and listening to my incessant whining (i couldn’t help it, i’m sorry. when the stomach hurts and when i feel like puking constantly. it’s a terrible feeling).
and poor thing, he must have caught my virus and fell sick the next day.. as he had a fever in the afternoon (which got worse, and panadol at shop & save ran out so i had to buy from those small stalls instead), puked in the middle of the night (which I, the sickling, had to take care of the other sickling) and his stomach was painful the next morning.
haish.
me la, i’m the cause of it all :(
anyway, i lost 4kg due to puking & diarrhea.
FOUR.
i’m like 42/43 kg now.
although i still feel as fat as ever.
hrmph.

puking frenzy
i think i’m dying. i’ve been puking 8 times since this morning. i’ve puked acid, bile, food, drinks.. i think i feel like throwing up my medicine as well.
my gastric is acting up, hurts like mad. due to the countless puking i suppose.
please tell deardear that i love him very much, and i enjoyed every single moment with him. i’ll still be his guardian angel, no matter what.
please tell my parents thanks for all these help they’ve given me, to enjoy that i more or less get the best treatment they could possibly give me.
please tell joo, hl and nx thanks for being such great pals, being there no matter whether im up or down.
shit, need to puke
friendster… DELETED!
hoho, well. since i’m cleaning up my laptop.. i might as well do thorough cleaning up!
not to be mean, but i really hate receiving spam comments/messages/some request to be some fan of someone i don’t know etcetc.
who are these people writing on my wall/sending me mails?? like hellooooooo. do i know you??
no i don’t.
i’m sorry, i’m not exactly very friendly.. and even if i see like more than 100 friends in common on facebook and i don’t know you.. I WILL NOT ADD YOU. yes, no matter how many times you send the request.
tons of weirdos man!
anyway, since i don’t use my friendster account anymore (which would like totally satisfy hl’s project i believe).. i deleted it! hohoho.
i am so bloody honest about switching to Facebook. lol.
and sorry, i blocked out the email address and password.
=)
oh gosh. my laptop is in a mess. seriously. thanks to exams.. i just download whatever file that’s on ivle onto my desktop.. and now it requires sorting out, shifting onto hard disk, blahblah.
like hello.. this is how cluttered my stupid desktop is now..
mind you, this is before the objectdock and taskbar pops up.
photoscape rocks
seriously!!!
i just realised that it can print screen and edit. wahh, i am SLOW.
oops.
oh, anyway, it was rather fun trying out the street view of googlemaps!
this is upmc (that tall building plus that modern looking building. but i suspect that the Google team went around some time ago, as the tall building isn’t fully constructed yet.
and that’s the faculty of science.. where the labs are
the studio that the school suggested for us
And then i was off on a stroll around the neighbourhood! (virtually though)
and you can see the restaurant & cafe/brasserie next to it :)
boutique/boucherie (i highly suspect that the photos were taken on sunday, since most of the shops are closed)
hopefully they sell nice shoes here!
i’m sorry, but i spotted the word “chocolats”!!!
ahh, so that’s where chocolates are sold!
and the alimentation generale
and then i thought.. why not “walk” around paris too?
hey, i can visit le tour eiffel!
and champs elysees too!
ooh, and there’s hotel du louvre
hmm, and how about notre dame de paris too?
oops. and i spotted LV too! wahaha. and there’s HSBC beside! world’s local bank indeed.
and then i thought.. hey, since it works for Paris, why not Lyon? then i can show you around. once again, virtually of course.
so anyway, this is insa lyon. please agree with me that it looks rather dilapidated.
the first day i had to eat at the restaurant.. i was like.. why is it called “le pervert??”
then i realised it’s “Le Prévert” instead. still, we must always remember to look out for the tram when crossing the road, because there was once we were happily chatting and forgot!! thank goodness the tram station is nearby (therefore trams approaching and leaving La Doua Gaston Berger wouldn’t be travelling at too fast a speed)
well, take the funiculaire.. and you’ll end up at fourviere! (and somehow deardear pronounces it as though it’s a vulgarity! lol)
cross the road and you’ll face…
la basilique! otherwise known as notre dame de fourviere. and a couple of other names i can’t remember. pretty right??
bellecour was our favourite hangout place after school! this librarie privee offers cheap campus textbooks (haha, which we could sell for a profit back in sgp even though it’s unused)
rue Victor Hugo. in case you don’t know who he is… I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of Les Miserables and The Hunchback of Notre Dame right?? Zara is just down the street if i’m not wrong. if not, it’s just down the other street in the opposite direction. I once walked down the streets of Bellecour, past Cordelier, and then to Perrache, and then the bus interchange to take a bus back! well, just to explore around a bit la.
and i suppose you can spot McDonalds.. and this is where the bouncers for the toilets are!
and to end it off. eat kebab at this place! i know there are like plenty of kebab shops but this one is the best deal! (this is besides the point that i didn’t pay for my kebab, accidentally.. because some people forgot to count a few of our shares when we went to the toilet). anyway, for say about 3 euros, you can get a huuuuggge bread (choice is up to you). i’m not sure how long, but it seems longer than the 6 inch ones at subway, but less than a footlong.. and it’s filled with lettuce, tomatoes, whatever other veggie, the meat that you choose, different kinds of sauces (there’s even spicy chilli!), and a whole big handful of fries! and because it’s so damn filling, you can just share it between 2 girls la. plus, there’s a chio cambodian-chinese waitress working there.
oh wow. googlemaps is certainly interesting, don’t you think? hahah.
clarke quay
wanted to blog about this yesterday but didn’t have the cable since i was at dear’s place. and i didn’t have photoscape there either.
anyway, it was such a romantic night out! we had great food at Mr. Curry at central (hl, don’t you just agree how much the architecture of that building sucks? it’s soooooooo super easy to get lost la! like places whereby you think there’s the toilet there.. it actually leads you to more shops. -_-”’)
well, i had spicy cod roe omelette with curry rice, whereas deardear had chicken and mushroom omelette with curry rice. mymy, was the curry good! the onion soup was good too (i mean, you know i hate onion, so for me to say that the soup is good.. it means it’s good la!)
and omelette + curyy = DAMN SHIOK!
and right now there’s some 100% promotion, so basically for example you ate $20 worth, they’ll give you $20 voucher to use the next time! so you could jolly well have your next meal free!
anyway, pictures! (if not my blog becomes dead boring)
dear’s food!

seriously i should bring my camera. it doesn’t even do the food any justice :(

my food! well, it came first, so i started eating (since i didn’t have lunch).. so i was trying to use to salad to cover up the empty spot. failed attempt though.

us posing with our food!

and deardear is so cute! hahah.
and with a little help from photoscape!

while waiting for fabian to arrive, we decided to take photos with the christmas tree. erm, obviously a failed attempt.

okay after that we walked with fabian to dbl o.. where eventually, after we waited for a while.. some of dear’s colleagues arrived. it was their major’s birthday la, so we bought something and wanted to ask someone to pass it to him. it’s cute la. it’s a set of coasters.. which has different states of being drunk. like it starts from sober, then drunk, then wasted.. i can’t remember the rest. hahah.
but that shop (Decorhut) at central has interesting and quirky stuff! (though pricy, but at least you won’t look like some other singaporean’s clone!)
okay so anyway dear didn’t enter (cos he was worried that he had drunk too much, how was he going to ride a bike back? and with me as the pillion, so he didn’t fill that it was very safe. awww.)
so we decided to just sit down at the quay, chit chat, and enjoy..
ps. i forgot to turn on the flash for some photos, so you can jsut imagine why they’re blurry and of awful quality.

haha, sweetness!

okay, and so i finally turned on the flash -_-”’

fabulous night! :)
paris 19eme..
okay, so this is the studio that the school has suggested for us..

apparently it’s featured in some archi website.. erm, it does look a little modern as compared to the rest of the street i suppose. hahah.
like.. hello.. the rest of the street looks like this:

you know, i’m still kinda in a state of shock and disbelief.. because we were like all so prepared not to go.. then suddenly *poof* we’re accepted…
wowwowwow
anyway, thanks to googlemaps street view, i can see that i’m staying right next to Restaurant lez Arts, which is next to Brasserie du Parc (since there’s bread and a restaurant there, i doubt i will starve to death. and plus.. breadshop is good! this means we can have good breakfast (and maybe lunch? buy, then have picnic on grass patches in school?) and it’s cheaper than most eating places!
further down the street (54) is some bar.. well, this means good entertainment when i want it i guess!
okay, and there’s a bank & atm nearby (good for emergencies!)
further down the bank, there is la boutique (okay, good for clothing emergencies!), followed by boucherie (okie, means we can have meat for dinner easily!), oh wait.. but it’s halal! okay, i guess that means no pork. lol.
ohhh, and there’s la halle chaussures nearby (means i can buy shoes nearby!), and then another brasserie!
okok i found an alimentation generale!! (ehh basically like a foodstore.. this is where we can buy foodstuff to cook dinner! yaay!)
guess the price of my residence.
hoho, because it’s subjected to APL (some aid, as we’re under 26).. and because we can apply a long term visa..
it’s gonna be like 150euros per person.
i mean, it sounds ex maybe.. but then in halls right now it’s already like 100sgd per week right? and that excludes meals as well… so technically.. it’s not that ex for my accomodation in france la.
the downside? i have to take the metro though.
oooh, but if i take from Stalingrad, then i wouldn’t have to change line at all! i can take the pink line all the way to Jussieu, 15 stops. i can take by other ways… such as take from Stalingard (pink line), take 3 stops to Gare de l’Est (purple line), 6 stops to Chatelet les Halles (pink line) (where the horrendous incident of me alighting from the train, and the train door closed, leaving jo behind, occured), then 3 stops to Jussieu. ehh although i save 3 stops, i think i rather just take the former route. it seems less complicating. (and less trains to wait for, so it should save time.)
ahh. all thanks to googlemaps man. i really love that la seriously (but of course i love deardear more la!)
the street view is so interesting!! go and try it!!!
okay, list of stuff i need to do:
1. settle visa. get long term visa (and then get carte de sejour in paris)
2. buy insurance (check if i should get the paris one or the sgp one. paris price is 7euros per mth). this is on top of getting securite sociale (195euros)
3. get laptop..ehh, maintenanced. it’s not spoilt or anything, but i just want to erm.. service it before i go to france, since there’s warranty still. hahah. like maybe ask them to take me off domain, defragment stuff, make it faster, help me do some cleanup)
4. settle accomodation. give confirmation to upmc quickly. also apply for APL.
5. get my shoe soles fixed (eh, just give them extra friction because some of them are wearing out. need to find cobbler!)
6. buy air tickets (lufthansa $1606.92 inc taxes, check out qatar)
7. pack luggage (remember clothes for winter, spring & summer!)
8. check out eurail passes. also check out if we want to get the HI cards for better deals when backpacking. or maybe check out couchsurfing instead.
9. bring my europe on a budget book! so that i can tour ma.
10. check out what visa is needed to visit scandinavia, and also if i need any additional passes for switzerland, not sure about the Schengen thing.
11. get shopping lists from people
12. settle NASA exchange award, and also take SEP loan for spare cash (I don’t want to travel halfway then realise i don’t have money to survive)
13. check if upmc allows us to arrive later, such as after CNY!
14. check out when can dear book his leave (at a later date)
15. pack my damn messy room.
16. buy luggage. probably need a new, big one
17. check out baggage allowance, for students going for studies. should be 20+10kg if they allow. winter clothes and books are heavy la!!
18. read up on french!! borrow grammar books from library to do. and revise campus.
19. lookout for other modules that i want to take (eg sports, guitare)
20. wait for results to come out. OMG. i am seriously damn scared. oh please please let it be alright! just let me maintain my honours can already!! i don’t expect like all As la.. (duh).
21. apply for giro for hp
22. prepare spare hp
23. look for a part time job in jan
24. prepare supply of contacts & solution
25. work out list of expenses for mum, so that she would know how much to prepare.
looking at the list.. OMG. i have one thousand and one things to settle. bleahhhhh.
paris!
woah. i am like.. happy leh. wahahha.
but one thing i’m worried about is.. aiyah, *touch wood* *prays hard cap will NOT dip!*
okay, i have trouble figuring out how to embed the googlemaps in here!!
hmm, i shall just seek help from google images anyway.

okay, so that’s the uni, and that’s the famous jardin des plantes just right beside it. UMPC is pretty convenient, since there are metro stations nearby. and it’s just next to the famous river seine!
And that’s Jardin des plantes!

And that’s river Seine! (of course, i suspect some HDR was done to it)

and yes, you can see le tour eiffel from the river. but it’s the upper stream though (or lower, not sure which direction the river flows. haha)
ooh. wait, i found the map of Paris! cheers to Googles Images!

so the chem engine people are miraculously accepted into Ecole centrale polytechnique, which you can see from the scale.. is just 250m away from upmc! yaay! means we can still meet up for lunches together!
okay, so i suppose you can see that upmc is also like maybe 500m away from notre dame de paris! (must state which one, since notre dame just means our lady.. so technically lots of catholic churches are called notre dame de __________)
![]()
aiyah. i’m very lazy already. shall just take more photos there la.
ps hl, i found out about the burberry factory outlet in london! plus i also found out all the factory outlets in europe too la. hahahaha.
upmc rocks!
i think upmc is seriously efficient.
E-F-F-I-C-I-E-N-T!
if you haven’t got my point already.
why? because we sent in our applications on wed morning… and we received the acceptance on thursday morning… (but i didn’t check my nus email till just now, so i just found out. hahaha)
okok, time to start emailing and settling stuff.
insomnia
it looks like my problem is getting worse. i thought like, hey, it’s the holidays.. i should get more sleep… right?
well, apparently not.
apparently ever since the exam period, and i’ve been sleeping late.. the habit just continued… and got worse and worse by the day…
(okay, maybe better.. because when i had to rush lab reports, i didn’t sleep at all…)
so oh well, it started with sleeping at 2am. which is like pretty normal if you were staying in hall anyway.
and then it become 3am.. and i’m like freaking wide awake you know.. i wasn’t in a going-to-die state.
and then it dragged on till 4am (just like jess.. which explains why we’re both online so late)
and then last night, or rather should i say, this morning… i slept at 6AM!!!
oh shit. i just remembered something. i drank a whole MUG of Gloria Jean’s yesterday.. could that be the reason? Since I don’t drink coffee often, maybe like when i do actually take it, it takes effect? I remembered i used to drink nescafe iced mocha (just one can), and that could keep me awake the whole night doing lab report, plus TWO LECTURES in school. oh, and plus lunch and the journey back of course.
oops.
but seriously those nights (or mornings, rather) that i’ve been sleeping at 4am.. it’s like… i have nothing to do.. and yet i try to find something to do. i don’t know why..
it’s CRAZY.
and it’s not like i take an afternoon nap therefore i am not sleepy at night you know..
oh man. my body is messed up.
:(

Cafe Del Mar!
Finally the exams are over and we’re back in Cafe Del Mar again! It’s always a great chillout place, especially since I don’t fancy clubbing, and this place serves alcohol in a much cooler, relaxing ambience, just beside the beach. Top it up with fantastic food (albeit expensive), and not-so-expensive drinks… it definitely feels like a vacation.
Okay, I’m going to grab some photos from hl because some shots were taken using her camera! Sorry babe! :(
Before heading down to Cafe Del Mar, we went to this NatGeo thing in Vivo. (like wasn’t it the Spanish place before this???)
And hl just dragged me to the Red Box to try out. I think the aim of that box is to test the power of Gore Tex!

The temperature dipped to about -1 degree Celsius, but honestly it wasn’t that cold! but that Gore Tex costs like 300SGD though. what a hefty price. Otherwise, together with the nice design, it would have made a great winter wear for Paris!
Okay, so after that we headed down to Cafe Del Mar at Sentosa!
photos taken on the monorail!

food, glorious food. chicken wings and breaded fish and chips, together with our drinks, which were generously treated by hl because we did her survey the other time!

i guess none of us has anything to complain about the food!

i like the setting of the place as well..

Blue and white is definitely a gorgeous combination!

Alright, more photos!

see what I mean by Facebook compresses the photos and makes it very blur somehow??

Somehow, i liked the effect of this photo. With all the palm trees in the background..

and hl wants to take a photo with her tattoo…

camwhoring even in the toilet. i like this photo!

And we’re walking on stars..

Back at vivo, with the Christmas decorations!

This Christmas tree is nice!!

At Gloria Jean’s.. and I really love the chocolate macademia latte!

A hot coffee after a cold dip in the pool, is the best way to end of the day!
this. is. crazy.
i mean. seriously!
like i was chatting with jess.. and we can’t believe.. how we previously tried to settle our exchange thingy for ONE YEAR… can actually be done in like ONE NIGHT.
I don’t know the results from the french uni yet.. will have to wait and see.. oh please please let it be… ok la, any news is fine actually.
because if i get to go, then i wouldn’t have to pay for the bond. and plus there’s another 3-4k from NASA exchange awards. (which obviously has to wait for our acceptance letter to arrive first). so technically it’s something like we’re given 6-7k to do our exchange…
and then if I get rejected, well then.. i wouldn’t have to pay that 3k anyway. i mean, the bad thing is i get stuck in nus la. and most of the world has just disappeared for exchange.. but oh well.. you know it’s still ok la i suppose.
jess and i were walking around raffles city/city link mall for a while.. and ultimately we settled on a bench outside blum & co, and started people-watching. lol. but after that we started to look at the models on display..
and seriously, right now.. all the nice clothes are like winter wear la! like stockings with boots + a dress on top. classic. hoho.
oh well, it might be a white christmas. i don’t know..
but poor wanying la! she thought that she wasn’t going for exchange.. so she booked tickets and is in lyon now.. then just yesterday, the chem eng people got accepted to ecole centrale, so.. she has to like fly back, settle all her visa and stuff.. then fly there again. wahh, super a lot of money on airfare la!
okok. if i’m going, then i had better work my ass off in jan + read up furiously on french. well, although we’re allowed to bring a french-english dictionary in for the exams.. so the vocab part is still ok… but i had better buck up on my grammar!!!
list of things to do:
1. go out with nx & hl to cafe del mar tmr!! yaay!!
2. go out with joo and hl.. not sure when, sometime during 23rd-26th dec
of course, also need to spend time with deardear la!
if i get accepted, i need to
1. settle visa (the long term one, so that there’s 50% rebate on accomodation)
2. get documents translated in french. where??? french embassy???
3. get air tickets
4. find accomodation
5. register for french class
6. register for modules (and figure out which one to drop as well. haha)
7. winter clothes? aiyah, never mind. not enough then buy over there
8. buy insurance. check out if need to get social security as well.
oh. btw, i just realised how the snowflakes move according to where your mouse pointer is… lol.
ooh. anyway. i have bought what i wanted to buy!!
ehh. will post up photos another time ba. hahah.
omg. seriously aldo in singapore is damn damn damn overpriced la! i was trying to just put a stock photo to show you guys what i bought.. then omg… the shades there are like less than 10CAD!!! (ok some are like 11CAD but still!!!). ps. shades in singapore are sold for 35SGD!!
the shoes that i saw the other day for like around 150SGD.. costs like 64.98CAD!
wth. how much do we actually mark up here? 300% of the original price???
omg. if i’m going to paris, i shall just do my shopping there. seriously. like how much did i get my necklace for? ONE EURO. my scarf? 1.95 euros. hey even my shoes weren’t very ex la.. 12 euros for a pair of pumps.. seriously i think you can walk into most shoe shops in singapore and NOT find that kind of price! oh, how about my GAP jacket? 10.50euros. zara top? 4.95euros. my mauritian dress? 5.95euros.
omg. seriously! shopping in sgp is a killer!! now i know wth is everyone spree-ing online and importing stuff.. because it’s cheaper overseas la!!! (even if you add in all the shipping and postage charges)
if i don’t have a thick enough coat or not enough coats, i am seriously going to get from there.. since a normal one (by normal, i don’t mean the 400euros one, when we tried on not knowing the price, and received the daggers shooting out from the salesgirl’s eyes.. but seriously the material was sooooooooo good! calf leather. so soft and smooth to the touch, and DAMN FREAKING WARM. ok, but i saw another similar piece when i went out with hl the other day.. it costs like 899.95 or something, from mango..so i guess similar material & quality.. similar price)
oops. digressed too much. anyway a coat over there can cost something like 30euros.. something which might cost like 200SGD in sgp. (like those we see in mango). see i told you. 300% of original price!!
goodness gracious. i wonder why people even take advantage of the “GREAT” singapore sale. i’m sorry but i’m a true blue bargain hunter. and everywhere i see, it seems like sales are only about 30% off. where is the AT LEAST 70% off sales i ask you???
Festive season!
Well, since Christmas is coming soon.. so I’ve changed the theme, and added the falling snow! Coolness right? I didn’t realize wordpress had this function.
On a sidenote, it is like 3.55am and i still cannot sleep. oh gosh.
search…
Okay, so i kinda look at the statistiques of my blog from time to time.. but anyway i was looking at the
Critères de recherche
(basically something like search options. paiseh, my wordpress is in french too. lol)
here’s what i get:
Okay, so basically there are like so so so many people interested in sean faris i see? and i think i posted some photos of him the last time. no wonder why there are so many links to my blog..
“shirtless cosplay” is probably by some weirdos who like jap anime-ish characters, but the porn way i guess. and there’s more than one weirdo.. hmm.
and who the heck is “xiao shu zhen” and why are you interested in her boobs? oh wait, or does it mean like little student? oh gosh, i have paedophiles leading to my blog as well.
hmm, whoever that’s looking for nus babes and hunks, probably shouldn’t look here.. seeing how i’m not a babe anyway.. although you can consider hw a hunk…
wah, and there are some microb enthusiasts, who somehow want to know more about S. cer & B. mega..
hmm, and there’s people searching for “eugene huang yuxiang”, that’s like… eugene! my classmate! i wonder if it’s a male or female who did thta search.. lol.
hmm. and there are some people who somehow link here beccause of french grammar..
ooh, and some people searching for chun kiak..
some perverts who look for “sweaty, skinny, shirtless”…
other perverts who want people to lick their balls..
but why the heck would anyone look for “ASIAN ARMPITS”???
like…
EEEWWWWW.
okok, i have to sleep now. need to be up early tomorrow.
movies!
watched a few movies these couple of days, thanks to watch-movies.net (but of course i did watch quantum of solace at lido though).. shall give a few reviews for fun. hahaha.
1. quantum of solace

on a side note, i think the girl on the right is rather pretty! lol.
well, i’m pretty sure i prefered the pierce brosnan version. daniel craig looked so skinny!
interesting comments:
me: omg, i think his waist is smaller than mine la!
jo: (while coming out of the cinema) ehh.. did you get it? i couldn’t understand the show
ann: hey! how come there’s no english subtitles? i couldn’t understand the accent la!
hh: ehh, i couldn’t understand the show either!
b: but at least you can read the chinese subtitles what!
the four of us: but we can’t read the chinese subtitles!!!!!!
(awkward silence)
me: okay, so did anyone watch the first part? like what exactly happened to the girl that he loves and he think she betrayed him?
everyone else: ehh, no idea.
hh: hey! notice this show james bond didn’t sleep with so many people!
erm. hahah. as in you can imagine. i can’t figure out the head and the tail of this story. maybe i should check out the first part to find out more. well anyway, the effects were pretty cool, but not as big scale as the previous ones by brosnan i guess. i mean like craig drove an alfa romeo? but alfa isn’t even like… the cars that brosnan drove!
i didn’t really get what the story was about, and why the heck did bond seem to just act on his own accord without his superiors’ orders..
final verdict: don’t bother catching the show in the cinemas.
***
2. Paris Je T’aime

ooh, i just realised it’s from the producer of “amelie” as well. hahaha
18 different short stories about the different arrondisements of paris. erm, if you don’t like short stories and endings that make you think then i guess this wouldn’t be what you like.

this one is damn funny. he’s like some tourists who just came to Paris and is reading brochures about Paris, and it states that it’s the city of lovers, lovers of history, lovers of music… etcetc.. and lovers of love.
across the other side is some parisian who kept shouting at him, and then when a train came, that guy’s gf just walked up to this tourist and gave him a french kiss (which he later spotted some spots on her face which could be some contagious disease that he was warned to avoid in the pamphlets).. then that guy from across got jealous, came over, punched the hell out of this tourist, and then eventually he and the girl walked off happily.
i was like -_-”’

this is about this blind guy who meets this girl who was rehearsing for an audtion, they fell in love, she kept screaming.. then she calls him one day to tell him “our love was like the autumn….”, and then she asked if he was still there and could hear her.. and he said “no, i see you”
-_-”’ once again

this one’s about some angmoh guy, who wants to promote hair stuff suited for Asian hair, makes this woman blond, styled all their hair to the westernized styles, then she asked if he liked the photo (the one she was blond) and he said, no, and preferred her with the original Asian look.
-_-”’
basically i think this is one of those shows whereby you can just watch, find it amusing, but that’s it. there’s no head, no tail.. and no storyline perhaps. but maybe the diverse culture of the diffferent arrondisements is what they’re trying to portray. anyway, there’s no english subtitles (only malay or chinese, i can’t remember), so good luck if you don’t know french.
should you watch? ehh, i don’t know. it’s up to you. quite funny though. hahaha.
3. Le fabuleux Destin D’amelie Poulain (but i think you would have to google just “Amelie” to find it)

she was a pretty eccentric child, just like her pretty eccentric parents, but basically she became cut off from the social world after her mum died. sounds like a typical story?
well, guess how her mum died? because some tourist was on top of this church that they were praying at, and as they walked out, the tourists jumped off, and fell on her mother.
-_-”’
that aside, her way of like chasing guys and helping people is pretty weird, but nevertheless i enjoyed the show loads! ps, in french by the way, but there’s english subtitles!

haha, she loves to take revenge for collignon, as his boss (the groceries seller) is always calling him an idiot and stuff. one day, she saw the key hanging outside the boss’ door so she made a copy.. and voila! she replaced his toothpaste with foot cream, changed his shoes to one that’s wayyy smaller, etcetc.

she loves going to cinema, but not because of the show, but rather, she likes to turn around and watch other people’s expression as they’re watching the movie..

eh well, she finally dares to chase after him, and thankfully he returned to the house, and obviously he entered her house and they had sex after this. well, what do you expect? french movies are full of sex. lol.
anyway, overall i really loved this show! it’s so damn funny, so damn different from your normal singaporean life.. watch it! ps. i think audrey tautou is so pretty!
4. Wild Child
this is one of those chick flicks i suppose. a wild californian girl gets too wild, and her father sends her off to the boarding school in the uk.. and at first she totally hated it, acting like a real bi-atch and bimbotic. but later she realizes her true friends, finds her true love.. kinda a cinderella type of storey with a few twists here and there (like how the head girl tried to set her up and stuff)
ok, photos!

emma roberts is the wild child! i think she looks quite pretty!

alex pettyfer, the guy that was her fairytale guy
overall i think it’s quite a nice show, so catch it!
insomnia
okok, i guess i’ll try to sleep right after this post. hahah.
just finished watching kungfu panda cos my mum bought the vcd. and honestly, it’s really good! and i can’t believe they create names like Master Oogway, erm, which is obviously, a tortoise!
lol.
but overall the show was rather funny, lots of interesting kungfu moves (ironic how the angmohs and not the ah tiongs who came up with the movie), and of course, great moral of the stories. hahah.
such as “the secret ingredient is nothing”. aka we all have to believe in ourselves and that there’s no scecret ingredient at all. as the panda’s dad said (although his dad is like a CHICKEN and he’s a panda), “to make something special, we have to first believe that it is special”.
oh well, lots of motivational thoughts in the movie i guess, like how on earth you try to convert a big fat panda into a dragon warrior.
(ok anyway, this reminds me of the draft i saved the other day and forgot to publish.. regarding the movies i watched)
no wonder why hl said i didn’t mention the link on my blog when i remembered that i did hyperlink it! lol.
.
.
.
well, deardear is finally back home! like FINALLY! damn, i was wondering why he didn’t reply my smses, then he said it’s because he didn’t receive anything when he was there, and once he reached sgp, there was a stream of messages coming in… oops. hahha. i guess that’s my doing :X
but sadly, i have to take care of my bro at home tomorrow (cos the babysitter’s son is like passing out or something. erm, not that pass out. i mean POP).. so i guess i would have to bring my bro everywhere.. such as changing my passbook (because i haven’t done so since the passbook is full for like 2 months already.. was busy studying, so they just sent those statements. lol. i think they gave up on me. hahah)
need to bank in money into citibank atm (to keep the interest rates of the step up account going, and also not to pay for that charge if the average balance falls below that of the previous month)…
need to do some christmas shopping. wanted to buy something for my dear from river island, but unfortunately, there wasn’t anything really nice in there :(
need to pick up my parcel from the post office (stupid la, the time that they delivered to my house i was at home la! but i didn’t even see or hear any post man coming coming! and when i tried to call in for them to re-send the item, the stupid line is always engaged. i wonder how efficient our postal service is.. like they’re always losing the stuff that joo sends to me. or rather, the card came, and the present’s missing. like wth. i think you can pretty much guess what’s going on. shit)
need to buy a fluorescent light thingy.. cos the circular thingy that’s meant to be for the light on my ceiling blew, and i’ve been pretty much living in darkness in my room for the past 2 days. okay fine, i survive on a study lamp (which is pretty bright thankfully).. but the surface area which is shines on isn’t that huge.. so each time i want to pick up something from the corner of my room, i have to like adjust the position of it. -_-”’
then again, i’ll probably wait for my dad to buy it during the weekends, because i have no idea how many watts/volts should i get, the brand, the type, blah blah.
so well, living in darkness for a couple more days. lol.
okay, i think i had better go to sleep. i’ve got this stupid ulcer on my bottom lip.. and i have no idea how it came about either :(
will publish the movies thingy in the next post!
okayyyy
so i didn’t buy those stuff i wanted. hahahhaha.
i however, bought an aldo shades when i went out with hl yesterday. i think it looks super nice la! and out of so many, i spotted this one was the nicest! shall take photos of it another time… hahahha.
anyway, so both of us were like kinda late for our meeting (though i reached earlier! was about 5mins late or so la)…
headed to river island of course! but…
there wasn’t anything really exciting or worth buying.. and so, we decided.. why not try on clothes?

this was like 167 or something. i don’t remember the price cos it was too darn ex and i wouldn’t buy it anyway!

oh well, make up for it by taking photos. hahaha
but i spotted one that i really liked.. and it’s slashed to 55 bucks!!!

however, it was quite a dangerous piece.. because if i grew fat after eating, then my tummy would show la, since it’s spandex and all…

so anyway.. we didn’t buy anything from river island! and neither did we use up hl’s $20 voucher -_-”’
everywhere was so disappointing i guess…
we walked into forever21 (i don’t understand why would anyone buy anything from there anymore. the clothes aren’t even nice anymore! gone were the days we would deliberate over whether to buy the top or not.. and ironically the queue was soooooo long!), mango (okay, the coats were really nice, but hello! i’m no longer going paris so i should stop looking at coats), principles (okay, that grecian gown is so nice! but it’s wayyyy taller than me), pull and bear, la senza (too filled with their prostitute underwear.. i mean, because they’re like touched by everyone and it looks like it’s a pasar malam store la!), zara (too ex compared to the one in bellecour, very backdated fashion.. like whatever i see in lyon, i see it 2 years later over here.. and some clothes look like they’re more ancient than my grandma, for goodness sake!), bebe (who would pay $90 for a t shirt??? plus we couldn’t find the stuff that was on the display in the store…so it was kinda sad), aldo (because the shoes that i saw online cannot be found in singapore), etcetc.
okay, basically i guess you can tell that shopping was really really a disappointment.
thank goodness food wasn’t. we ate at thai express at like 4pm for lunch/dinner?? and then after shopping around for a while more, hl said she liked creme brulee so i brought her to the fre(n)sh cafe.. because their creme brulee is only 5.50 and it’s damn good! and.. look!

they even have an effiel tower, stenciled in cocoa powder on the plate!
i took a dessert of the day, which was chocolate mousse… and oh my, the taste was so rich it was worth every bit of my $5.50! hahah.
and look!

i had a stenciled cocoa powder of the name of the cafe too!
and their service was so good, even though we sat outside (cos usually for most places, when u sit outside, you tend to be ignored..), and water was served and all.. but there was no service charge! meaning the prices were nett prices!!
okay, very abrupt ending i guess. hahah. but dammit la, deardear is still not back…
but i found another piece that i like!

haha, maybe this is my way of making up because i am stuck in sunny singapore. (i wonder who came up with that term!)

Bunaken and North Sulawesi – Diving & Snorkeling with Eco Divers
Manado is an exotic year-round dive holiday destination and an area of outstanding natural beauty. The lush coconut palms, sandy beaches and pristine reefs of the Bunaken National Park are set against a magnificent backdrop of volcanoes and teeming rainforests. North Sulawesi offers so many diving delights, including the famous and intriguing Lembeh Strait, home to scores of rare camouflaged critters. Said to be the epicentre for marine life, there are more species to be found here than anywhere else on the planet, with new discoveries being made every day.
Eco Divers, based at Kima Bajo Resort & Spa, is a PADI 5 Star Center. Managers Luca Vaime (Italian) & Miho Takeda (Japanese) have already managed an upscale dive operation in North Sulawesi since 2005, so they know every bit of the Bunaken National Park. The purpose built boats are built in a traditional design, powered by energy efficient double outboard engines and have comfort features including sundeck, camera rinse tanks, WC and shaded salon. They take divers to over 30 dive sites with speed and comfort, each carrying a maximum of just 8 guest divers. Snorkellers and non-divers are also welcome to join the trips. Dive groups are kept very small – just 4 guests to each guide. At the jetty a camera storage facility with individual lockers is available for guests’ use.
Our daily dive program to Bunaken National Park offers a two-tank morning trip and one-tank afternoon trip. The morning trip departs at 8.15am and the boats return at around 1pm, so guests can enjoy lunch at Kima Bajo Resort. The afternoon trip departs at 3pm and returns by around 4.30-5.00pm. Night dives, special trips to Lembeh Strait and PADI dive courses can be arranged on request.
Other soft adventures:
Soft Adventures in North Sulawesi
While staying with us, you can also explore North Sulawesi’s many natural wonders. Experience the cool mountain air of the flower city of Tomohon where you can enjoy the lively exotic market and enjoy local Sulawesi coffee with a slice of delicious coconut cake. Witness the many distinct churches filled with local worshippers. Then on to Lake Tondano where local restaurants, fringed by rice paddies offer a refreshing sojourn from the town.
For the more adventurous, white water rafting, hiking through the many farms, horse back riding and trekking in the rainforest of Tangkoko Nature Reserve are activities all within an easy drive from the resort. The Tangkoko Nature Rerserve is home to unique flora, birds and primates such as the Black Crested Macaques and the world’s smallest monkey, Tarsius Spectrum.
Manado
A 40-minute drive south will bring you to the port city of Manado, with its predominantly Christian population and colourful colonial history. Here you can experience the culture of a thriving regional metropolis striving to embrace the 21 st century.
Does anyone want to come along??? since deardear won’t be free i suppose :(
hmm…
i’m getting kinda iffy la i guess. so many disappointments this vacation..
no france, no taiwan, no penang, no bangkok..
it’s like i’m stuck on this pathetic island. okay, or pathetic me is stuck in this island, rather.
i was so filled with hopes, with ideals, with dreams..
….eurotrip, louis vuitton gifts for my mum and myself.. i was all geared up for pimkie and claire’s and all the interesting books at fnac and librarie privees (which means private bookshops, although i don’t see how bookshop translates to librarie and library translates to bibliotheque).. i wanted to travel to finland, see santa claus, spend a wonderful christmas in italy/greece, a wonderful spring in spain/portugal, and summer around europe/scandinavia..
but all these had to be crushed, thanks to the bloody inefficiency of the whole damn place.
dammit. i was even prepared for picnics during weekends, eating at patisseries along vieux lyon, munching down kebabs and crepes at hotel de ville, buying 2-euro books from bookstores in bellecour..
urgh.
and then we were given the choice of upmc.. wonderful location beside jardin des plantes, jardin de luxembourg, across the river from notre dame, across another river from gare de lyon, which would give us wonderful access to the tgv.. but damn! the deadline is like tomorrow noon time and i don’t even have the time to settle anything.
and then i thought i could go on a holiday with ann and bunch to penang.. seems like the plan’s not going into action somehow.. as they had already bought their tickets wayyyy before hand..
and i thought taiwan would be good.. but of course, as i had told deardear earlier that i was going to paris, he went ahead to book a malacca trip with his dance peeps instead. and…irhtdpbtw, ihtmamed, atmitof, tmia!
no bangkok with jo and gang either, thanks to the unrest in thailand.
shit la.
urgh. i need some therapy man!
like retail therapy at river island and some alcoholic therapy at cafe del mar!
i’m longing for a spa vacation though.. anyone wants to join me? i don’t know where to go though :(
hmm, maldives looks good!
hmm, this small boutique resort looks good too!
http://www.kimabajo.com/
not only there’s spa.. there’s also rafting, horseback riding, diving that you can enjoy!

aiyah, but what’s the point. this kind of places is more suitable for a romantic getaway than going alone la!
ehh.. still holidays? hahah
went swimming this morning. did a couple of laps.. not say a lot la.. like probably only about 2km or so only :(
it’s been YEARS since i’ve gone to the pool to like really swim ok? (teaching kids don’t count because they’re the ones who are swimming, not me!)
and the sun was shining in my face :(
and i think i’ve grown much darker now. bleahh.
accompanied my bro to play the slides as well.. hahah. reminds me of the good old scgs days at then-called-pinetree, later renamed as the pines.
had jap food for lunch (treated my brother to a good meal la of course!)
came back to do some cross stitch.. finished watching paris je t’aime… ahhh. (shall watch le fabuleux destin d’amelie poulain tmr!)
this is life.
what’s missing is a vacation! :(
holidays!
so.. this is how you spend your holidays.
eating at nydc, walking around orchard like vagabonds, going to lido to watch quantum of solace…
and then today i watched madagascar escape 2 africa and paris je t’aime on this webbie..
www.watch-movies.net
very useful webbie, online streaming..
although watching paris je t’aime shouldn’t be what i should be doing cos i feel like crying since i’m no longer going to paris! or anywhere, maybe, for that matter.
ehh but of course, after watching it without reading subtitles (cos the subtitles are in chinese and i can’t really understand anyway).. i think it’s a good choice not to go to upmc cos i probably can’t understand fully what the lecturers are saying! lol
but haven’t finished watching though, there are too many parts to the show, oh my, there’s even amelie poulain on that webbie! in case you don’t know who she is, she’s the one who acted in the da vinci code as well la!
am going swimming tomorrow. letting my brother play with the slides and stuff while i do my laps. heheh. then treating him to jap food after that!
Protected:
last paper to go
and somehow i don’t have the heart to study. oh gosh. why why why why why???
oh gosh, i HATE pharmaco, seriously. useless pure memorizing of all the drugs, mechanisms of actions, clinical uses, side effects.. gosh, i would rather be studying cardio again, seriously.
but then again, i have no choice. urgh. i still have shitloads to mug, but thankfully the format’s 6C3, so i can sort of choose topics to mug.. just like microb. hahah.
hey, when u’re pressed for time, u can only study smart, not study hard! ehh. okay, u still need to study hard, but not in the qing ting dian shui manner whereby u study a bit of everything but not in depth of anything, then you realise you can’t write your essays! and oh well, negative marking for the mcq part AGAIN. i think i am subjected to negative marking all the time now. :(
ah well, need to check for mechanism of action of prednisolone…
tata!
